Privacy Policy
Sunday is built so we don't see your data. Your check-in entries are stored only on your device. We have no accounts, no servers, and no way to read what you write. The long version below explains exactly how that works.
Who runs Sunday
Sunday is made by Clay Studio LLC, a small studio based in Austin, Texas. We make a small number of apps with care, and we'd rather not know things about you that we don't need to know.
For any question about this policy or your data, write to privacy@claystudio.app.
What stays on your device
When you use Sunday, your check-in entries, prompts, and settings are saved on your phone using iOS's standard local storage. That data:
- Stays on your device
- Is not transmitted to Clay Studio or to anyone else
- Is encrypted by iOS when your phone is locked
- Is deleted if you uninstall the app
You can export a copy of your entries at any time from Sunday's settings. We recommend doing this before you replace or reset your phone.
If you use iCloud Backup, a copy of this on-device data may be included in your personal iCloud backup, which is managed by Apple under your agreement with Apple. Clay Studio still has no access to it.
What we collect
Nothing personal in the app. Sunday does not collect, request, or receive:
- Your name, email, or any other identifier
- Your check-in entries or anything you create in the app
- Your location
- Your contacts, photos, or files
- Your taps, screen views, or navigation patterns
- Any device identifier we could use to track you across apps
We don't run accounts, logins, or user databases. There is nothing for us to "have" about you, because nothing reaches us.
The website
The sundayritual.app website is a simple introduction to Sunday. It includes a waitlist signup form. If you submit your email there:
- We collect only the email address you provide
- We use it to send you a single email when Sunday becomes available
- The email is stored by Netlify, our website host, and is accessible only to Clay Studio
- We do not share, sell, or use your email for any other purpose
- We process it on the basis of your consent, and keep it only until Sunday launches or you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first
- You can ask us to delete your email at any time by writing to privacy@claystudio.app
The website does not use cookies, analytics, or third-party trackers.
Subscriptions and payments
Sunday offers paid subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store. When you subscribe:
- Apple processes the entire transaction
- Apple does not share your payment details with Clay Studio
- We receive only the aggregate, anonymized sales reports Apple provides to every developer
Subscription terms, auto-renewal, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple under your agreement with Apple, not with us. To manage or cancel a subscription, open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
Crash reports
If you've left "Share With App Developers" enabled in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may send Clay Studio anonymized reports about app crashes and performance. These reports:
- Are anonymized by Apple before we see them
- Do not include any content from your check-ins
- Do not identify you personally
You can turn this off at any time in your iOS Settings. We do not use any third-party analytics tools — no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Firebase, nothing of that kind.
Tracking
Sunday does not track you across apps or websites. We don't ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, because we have no tracking to do.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold personal data about you, most data-rights requests aren't applicable to Clay Studio. To be specific:
- AccessWe have no data about you to share.
- DeletionUninstalling the app removes the data on your device.
- PortabilityExport your entries any time from Sunday's settings.
- CorrectionEdit your entries directly in the app.
If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, or anywhere else with data-rights laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, and others), the rights granted by those laws apply. In practice there's no data on our side for us to act on — but if you have questions, write to privacy@claystudio.app. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Sunday is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided information through Sunday, please contact us — though as noted above, no personal data reaches Clay Studio.
International users
Sunday is available worldwide through the App Store. Because no data is transmitted to Clay Studio, no international data transfers take place as part of using Sunday.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Sunday handles data, we'll update this policy and the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Substantial changes will also be noted inside the app before they take effect.
